Cemix Pro Nigeria · Lagos, Nigeria · AI agent

An AI advisor that guides buyers through an industrial catalogue

A customer-facing AI agent for Cemix Pro Nigeria, a distributor of industrial compressed-air and pneumatic equipment, that answers product and brand questions, walks visitors through the catalogue brand by brand and series by series, collects enquiry and order details in a structured way, and hands anything commercial to the team

The Cemix AI advisor guiding a buyer through the catalogue

The problem

Cemix's catalogue spans nine brands and hundreds of models across compressors, dryers, filters, valves and automation components. Visitors arrived with vague questions, "I need a compressor", and no easy way to narrow them down, while every enquiry, quotation request and order detail had to be handled by hand.

What we built

  • A conversational agent grounded in the catalogue: brands, series, models and what each is used for
  • Guided discovery, brand to series to model, with product cards and carousels where they help
  • Enquiry and order capture: the agent collects the customer's needs and contact details in a structured form for the team
  • Multilingual by default: it answers in the visitor's language and never translates model numbers or brand names
  • Guardrails: no invented prices, stock, lead times or specifications; commercial requests go to the team
  • Packaged as a website widget that runs inside the client's existing digital environment

Inside the system

AI customer and ordering agent

  1. 01Product question

Ask about a product, get a grounded answer

A buyer compares two series across brands and the advisor answers from the catalogue: what each is, what it is built for, and the one question that narrows the choice

The advisor comparing two compressor series
  2. 02Catalogue guidance

From a vague need to the right series

The customer describes the job, not a model number, and the advisor walks brand by brand to the series that fit, with product cards the buyer can open

Guided discovery with brand choices and product cards
  3. 03Enquiry capture

    The enquiry, collected in conversation

When the buyer wants a quotation, the advisor collects company, contact and need one question at a time and sends the team a structured summary instead of a loose message

An enquiry summary collected by the advisor
  4. 04Human handoff

Prices and delivery go to people

Asked for a price or a delivery time, the advisor does not guess: it passes the request to the Cemix sales team with the model and destination, and asks how the customer prefers to be reached

A commercial request handed to the sales team

Chain did not build the Cemix website, as the agent is built to run inside the client's existing digital environment

Deployed in the client's environment

The advisor runs as a widget on Cemix's own website, next to the catalogue it explains, so the site itself is the client's and the agent is the part Chain built
